She has worked with teachers, nurses, counselors, administrators, and parents, presenting keynote addresses, workshops, seminars, and classes on empowering families. She is adept at creating safe environments for learning and feeling through her genuine, heart-felt, speaking style, her sense of humor, and insightful observations. Her passion for helping families motivates her to create practical tools for parents to take home with them.
She has been a featured author and expert on numerous radio and television programs, sharing her proven techniques on positive parenting, couples communication, and personal growth. Her work has been published nationwide in newspapers and magazines.
Author of "Redirecting Children's Behavior", she is also the president of the International Network for Children and Families, a worldwide parent training network that teaches skill-building strategies to families. The classes emphasize teamwork, creating win-win situations, and effectively avoiding power struggles using kind-but-firm methods promoted by Alfred Adler and Dr. Rudolf Dreikurs. The discipline methods she teaches build children's self-esteem.
Kvols' career began as a Head Start pre-school teacher and continued as a mental health counselor for children and families. From 1975 through 1990, Kvols served as president of Global Relationship Centers, Inc., headquartered in Austin Texas. In 1973, Kathryn developed and directed 'Your World Your Camp', a summer camp program for children 8-16 that encourages leadership, self-responsibility and high self-esteem. A highlight of her career was being invited to speak at the 1989 World Peace Conference in Costa Rica. Kathryn is also a member of the Transformational Leadership Council.
Kathryn and her husband, Brian Harper, reside in Gainesville, Florida and have a blended family of five children: Brianna, Tyler, Chloe, Emily, and Amy. Her experiences as a mom, single mom, and step-mom have made her empathetic to her audience and easy for them to relate to her. |
