"My weekend was a dream in which my past became my present. And what I learned from my past gave me the tools to determine my future. I found friends I never knew I had.

The love of my life moved from intermittent to intertwined. I saw eyes opened, hearts set free, minds cleared, goals achieved. I saw sadness and heartbreak turn to determination and victory. I was held again by my mother, gone all these years. I said to my father the things that needed to be said in order to cleanse my spirit of hardness and strained anger. I found I was able to forgive and be forgiven. My mother, brothers, and other loved ones, long since passed, touched me as I walked through a dream.

My anger turned to strength, my sorrow to gladness, my shame to confidence, and my past to my future.

I was empowered by tender loving care, motivated by life and the realization that I can make it possible for others to find the tools necessary to find their own perspective. To encourage and praise, to show that life begins when you least expect it.

My weekend was a euphoric experience, made all the more meaningful because it wasn’t brought on by alcohol or drugs, but by pure human spirit.

It came from within and it’s a part of me. I can access it anytime. The most positive and reliable reference material I’ll ever need when researching my life and goals.

I have never felt such love from a community before. During the weekend, I told everyone I needed to set a boundary in my personal life and needed to have their love and support before I could.
